E-Newsletter
Applications
So what can e-mail marketing be used for?
Typically, its used for ongoing
customer communications, often in the
form of an e-mail newsletter; or
its used for promotional campaigns
or one-time activities, such as customer
surveys or sweepstakes. It is also used
for direct marketing to large numbers of
potential customers, inviting them to
visit your Web site for more information
about your product or service.
Benefits
of using an E-Newsletter
E-mail
has many benefits over more traditional
forms of marketing. It is cost-effective,
with an average cost per contact of less
than 10 cents. It has a significantly
higher response rate than most other
forms of direct-response marketing,
generally between 5 percent and 15
percent, depending on the form of the
e-mail and its offer. A third key benefit
is its ability to provide real-time
response tracking and analysis. At its
most rudimentary level, this lets you
know how many individuals received your
e-mail message and how many messages
bounced, or could not be
delivered. |
