Web
Site Design & Development
Intralytics
can help your organization with innovative
designs, user-friendly interfaces and
comprehensive programming. The outline below
describes the process we use.
Develop
a Needs Analysis
Determine a basic set of objectives -
- Simply
stated, what is the purpose of the Web
site?
- Who
is the audience?
- What
will they see and hear?
- How
should they interact with the data?
- What
response is needed or desired?
Asset
Identification
Once the site objectives have been established,
determine which site elements already exist and
which must be created. These include such items
as;
- Corporate
logos
- Text
Documents
- Pictorial
Elements
- Video
Clips
- Audio
Clips
- Internal
and external links to other sites and
networks
Design
Recommendations
We will study the Needs Analysis and the asset
list and present our recommendations for your Web
site in three documents:
Mission
Statement
This document details our understanding of the
objectives of the site, provides a listing of
assets needed to create it, a projected schedule
for the completion of the work and an estimate of
the costs involved.
Pathway
Design
To clearly show navigational pathways and
connectivity both within and outside the site, we
will diagram the assets of the site and clearly
identify the connections between them.
Interface
Design
To illustrate how a user can access all the data,
we will create a sample home page to show basic
navigational tools and interface design.
Collection
of Assets
Having approved a plan, a budget and a production
schedule, the next step is to collect and deliver
all your assets to Intralytics. It is important
for the designers and programmers to actually
have access to the materials to understand
document flow and to implement style changes that
might be necessitated by the overall Web design.
Production of all Elements
Creation of original art. Intralytics will create
the elements that havent been provided.
These will likely include;
- Interface
and navigation elements
- Page
Headers
- Theme
graphics
- Animation
sequences
Digital Conversion
Simultaneously, digital conversion of existing
assets may be required to bring them into some
kind of harmony with the technical demands of the
Web and the various browsers required;
- Scan
and convert pictorial elements to
appropriate format
- Digital
conversion of video and audio elements
- Digital
conversion of text elements
Programming
& Emulation
The programming of the site includes:
- Construction
of HTML, Shockwave and Java applet code
in conjunction with the site designer for
correct utilization and placement of all
elements on their respective pages.
- Exhaustive
testing of the navigational system to
make sure it works smoothly and as
expected each time the site is visited.
- Emulation
of the site. Launching The finished site
will be uploaded to the final server
site. The server will enable the content
on your site to be accessed and viewed by
Internet users throughout the world.
